Your body can improve functionally, and in appearance, with as little as three hours per week of training. Moderate total body resistance, increased aerobic movement and your awareness of nutrition and calories in versus calories burned all provide a foundation on which to build the rest of your fit life. Hours on hours spent under stacks of weights are not necessary for the majority of us to look and feel better!
Functional Training, specifically, promotes changes in the brain's ability to program movement leading to decreased injury and greater performance in work, sport & life. No longer is this type of training prescribed solely for the professional athlete or competitive amateur. Rather, people from all walks of life are benefiting from training the body and mind as one kinetic chain over teaching single muscles to work in isolation.
There will be elements of functional training in any program I am ever asked to design; I believe it is that important. When you and I sit down and discuss your goals and training needs, I will then be able to develop a program suited particularly to you and your desired outcome, be it fat loss, muscle gain, speed and agility, power or general conditioning.
